About

Hi, I'm Rhi and my Kitchen is tiny.
I live with my always hungry and handsome boyfriend Jim in a very small but beautiful art deco apartment overlooking the Yarra river.
I do the cooking and he does the cleaning. Its a good deal.
I do love to eat healthy and I do eat "super foods" but mainly I create recipes that are cruelty free and taste good.
I grew up on a farm in the middle of nowhere, Victoria Australia. We could water ski on our dam and ride motor bikes in the paddocks. When friends came over they would say it was like going on 'camp'.
It was normal to my brothers and sister and I.

I have always eaten everything. Like things kids aren't even supposed to like. I remember when I was younger my Dad was having a meeting with man in a suit in the lounge. I strutted past them into the kitchen and continued to finely chop about 6 cloves of garlic. I chucked the garlic in a pan with a big glug of oil and some fresh herbs. Heated it through and tossed in some cooked pasta. The man in the suit could not believe this little thing was cooking herself garlic pasta for lunch and it wasn't peanut butter on toast or 2 minute noodles.

From about age 8 I entered my cooking into local shows and fairs. I took out first prize for my ANZAC biscuits every year for about 8 years and I was proud!

I became a vegetarian about 4 years ago but soon felt hypocritical still eating cheese and drinking milk so I became vegan over night and have never looked back.

There is a very long list of my favourite foods but here are a few:
-tomatoes
-Shitake mushrooms
-Chipotle chilli
-Tahini
-Indian food
-Avocado
-Peanut butter
-Coconut in all of its forms (except water, it tastes like a wet dog)
-Mangoes
-Dates
-Dark chcolate
-Hummus

Jim and I eat the most amazingly diverse and colourful array of foods daily and we have never been healthier.

I am currently working on my own range of vegan foods and my first cook book.

Thanks for taking the time to read about me and my vegan journey. xxx
